Internet Marketing What I’d like to do here, is to give the fledgling Internet business entrepreneur, several of the most powerful principles I’ve observed over the years that if followed, may well prevent you from sliding into a ditch.

Make it a point to go over them at least monthly and they will help you remain focused on the road ahead.

First, lets consider the advantages of creating and building an online income.

Our place of work is open for business 24/7, therefore we can work when we wish and for as long as we wish.

Several of our regular obligations can be set up to run on auto-pilot allowing us additional time with the family, social and leisure activities.

This situation creates a less stressful working environment. To a certain extent we’re in command of our own rewards.

Nevertheless, it is crucial to remember that there are quite a few few ‘Get-Rich-Quick‘ schemes online.

You should regard this fact in much the same way as you would if you were creating an offline business, which, in order to be sucessful, demands dedication and a positive attitude right from the start and can oftentimes return very little rewards early on.

Get the feel of the Internet marketing arena.

Although it is important to have your mindset centered on a full-time successful internet business, it is valuable, especially early on in your online career, to test a few programs in your free time. This way, you’ll get the feel of the IM arena and at the same time acquire a little knowledge on HTML, Scripts, creating magnetic images and even building your first website.

This can all be accomplished in your spare time. Don’t fire your boss until you have complete confidence in your ability to bring in steady income. There may be a whole slew of things to learn but, trust me, if you’re focused, it will ultimately be well worth the effort.

Avoid ‘get paid to read email sites.

Never get involved in ‘get paid to read email’ sites, they are scams and you will not earn a cent, and they won’t reply to your emails of complaint!

Many MLM opportunities also fall into this category.

In fact any website that assures you that your income will be doubled or tripled in a matter of days, or that you will become rich overnight, are scams.

Stay away from them!

It’s not hard to find authentic money making opportunities on the Net. Search for offline contact points. A street address or phone number is a good sign they are genuine.

Another good test is to send them an email prior to sign up to see how expeditiously they respond.

Avoid the ‘Get-Rich-Quick’ schemes. They don’t work!

Shy away from ‘secret formula’ offers.

Imagine you discovered a technique for pulling in huge sums of money on the Internet. Would you then offer to tell everybody about your ‘secret formula’? I don’t think so! You will undoubtedly encounter those who will attempt to convince you they have found such a recipe, and will offer to share it with you.

Believe me it will be costly you, not only financially, but also in wasted time. Always shy away when you see the word ‘Secrets’, or see touts of huge profit.

Likewise, ask yourself this question. Would a person who says they are making several million dollars a year, even bother to compose and market an eBook describing how he did it? Not! Go with your initial instincs, they are normally rather precise!

Anyone with a little Net saavy can create fake images of online earnings.

Don’t pay too a great deal of attention to images of pay checks or bank statements supposedly demonstrating how much the account-holder has made. It is a very simple task to produce whatever you want with a bit of creativity. The same applies to letters of recommendation and testimonials. Anyone can compose them or get their collegues to do so! They may and do fool some.

Don’t let it be you.

Think positive and stay focused at all times.

When you take a close look at successful online marketers, you find they have one thing in common! Commitment! They are prepared to work hard and long to accomplish their goals. They do not lose heart if everything does not come together today, and they are seldom influenced by the ‘fast buck’. I cannot emphasize this point often enough.

Be organized.

Keep all your business concerns and activities logged and documents filed in the proper folders. Check your email accounts at least daily and file those that are significant.

Don’t be afraid to appoint a file or folder a long name. You should be capable of accessing any file, folder, software or email inside of 30 seconds. A great deal of time can be saved with a squared away desktop!

Adhere to the basic etiquette of Internet Marketing.

Don’t be enticed to blast a high volume of unsolicited email (spam). It won’t be worth the hassle!

Understand the Terms and conditions section when you join any program and if you choose to sign up, adhere to those terms. You will build valuable contacts during your Internet campaigns.

Try not to ‘stand on anyones toes’

Avoid leaving large amounts of funding in any online marketing or promotion website!

Most sites have a rigid policy on spamming and if you are ever accused (justly or not) of sending unsolicited emails, you are in all likelihood going to have your account shut down, which could result in you losing your funding!

So that’s it! Not exactly a set of rules per se, but more a collection of simple guidelines which, if practiced, will assist you in making your Internet Marketing endeavors much more secure and enjoyable.
