One thing most new website owners have in common is that they want their site to rank high with search engines, right away.
The truth of the matter is, your website isn’t going to be first on the list, especially when you’ve just launched it.
It takes a lot of preparation to get your site to rank high in the search engines.
You could pay an SEO specialist to work some optimization magic on your site, so that it gets a top ranking in those search engine results and help from some of today’s seo consultants is almost too easy to get.
But, there are a few other strategies you can employ by yourself to help save money.
In order to have the best search engine ratings, remember that there are many different approaches that can get you there.
Let me show you something, that even the most inexperienced person can do to boost their website rank.
The first element of a website’s rank, is determined by it’s content.
A site without very much written material doesn’t provide much for the search engines to work with and won’t get a high ranking. Nonetheless, even if you yourself know your niche or business well enough that you can generate your own content, it is important that you write using terms that your audience will be able to comprehend.
What is simple for you to understand might not be so simple for somebody unfamiliar with the subject.
One means of generating ideas, is to sit and imagine what someone looking for your product may search for.
Start out with a short list of five to ten keywords that describe your site. After you have your keywords, you can spend some time writing a little bit about each of them and address how it is that they relate to your business.
When you are done with this, you may discover that you have already written enough content to cover several different areas of your web page. You need to make sure that you add content like this periodically, at least every month if not every few weeks, so that the search engines will notice your site.
Besides having a lot of content you need to make sure you always have new content.
If you are adding or rewriting the content on pages with regularity, the search engines will notice the new content when they index your site and will, accordingly, move you up the rankings for the relevance of what you have written new.
Of course, the more links you are able to gain from other sites the better off you’ll be with those search engines too.
If you want to get better ranking in the search results for a particular key phrase or keyword, you can search it with Google. You will most likely find some type of directory of businesses which are related to yours that will allow you to add your link.
You can also do searches using keywords such as a specific area, and it will turn up multiple websites that are otherwise unrelated aside from where they’re located. If you use a directory to add your link to the mix they may charge you a fee, but it will be well worth it because these sites are already high ranking. Certain directories don’t cost anything and you might be able to dig up some of those, too.
Take some time to search for yourself.
Research should be your next task, or you may have done it already. After you’ve found the top ranked sites for your keywords or phrases, then you should find out how they achieved the rating they have.
All of the sites you find when you look up search engine optimization, will give you the same strategies I’ve just discussed and although it is not very hard, SEO can occasionally be confusing and it does take time.
So if you want to take the time to do it yourself, do it. If you don’t, hire someone to do it for you.
When it comes to Online Marketing, using Social Media is key.
With the rise of Social Media, Internet Marketing has become a constantly changing process, adapting to new Technologies and techniques as they arrive.
It is now more important than ever to have a Plan in place before you set out on any Website Marketing ventures.
So what is the best Social Bookmarking Strategy to use to market your site?
Well, I don’t know what the BEST one is – that depends on how you define the word, but I can share with you the strategy that I personally use to market my Sites that has proven to be a success for me.
First, I create accounts at all of the social bookmarking sites that I want to include in my Social Bookmarking Strategy.
This can be a tedious and time consuming task, so if you have the funds do yourself a favor and purchase some automated Marketing Software Strategy software to speed the process up for you and save you the headache.
Once that is complete I social bookmark the main page of my Site with a Keyword Rich Title.
I focus my time on 1 Keyword at a time, so choose just 1 Keyword for now (I personally recommend using Keyword Software to find money making Keywords that are of low competition and high converting.
Don’t underestimate the power of the Keyword Research process.
Also include the Keyword Phrase in your Tags and choose tags that are popular and relevant to your Website.
Now that you have Bookmarked your main Website at all the various Bookmarking Websites it’s time to move on to bookmarking all Sites you know of that are linking to yours. These can be other Websites that you own, or sites of friends, family, link trade partners, etc.
Make sure you bookmark the page on their Website that is linking to yours, as that is what will help Google and other Search Engines find your site.
The next thing I usually do in my Social Bookmarking Strategy is make a Web 2.0 Property. I personally prefer Squidoo Lenses over any other Sites. Simply go to Squidoo, make an account and place content from your Website onto the personal Squidoo Lens page. Include at least 1 link on your Squidoo Lens that points back to your main Website.
Also, be sure to anchor the link with the Keyword Phrase you chose earlier.
Once you’ve made your Web 2.0 property that points back to your site it’s time to Bookmark it.
You are going to repeat the same process you did with submitting your main Webpage and submit your Squidoo Lens Site to the Bookmarking Websites with a Keyword Rich title, description and popular tags. If you want to go the extra mile with your promotion you can also bookmark any RSS Profiles you have created that point to your site.
In short, bookmark anything and everything that links back to your site. The easier you make it for Google and other Search Engines to find your Site with your Keyword Phrase, the faster and more highly it will rank in the search engine results.

Many people like yourself have landed on this page because you’re looking at the most fool-proof way to start your Internetbusiness. Starting one isn’t as easy as you think after all the trials, difficulties and challenges you will face along the way and the heaps of competition you will discover online.
Want proof? Simply Google ‘make money online’ and you’ll discover how much competition you have – probably in the hundreds and thousands of them!
Worse still, some unethical marketers who want to make a fast buck out of you by selling all kinds of crappy and irrelevant information to you.
It’s misleading alright…no, it’s plain wrong to waste any newbie marketer’s time and effort like this!
Fact is, there will be ‘gurus’ and ‘experts’ who will be more than happy to exploit clueless marketers who are quick to draw out their wallets to make a ‘life-changing purchase’.
Lets get something straight…there is no such thing as a life changing purchase!
Even the best money- making blueprint will not work for you unless you put it into practice, and in most cases, actually making the system manifest in real life is the hardest challenge you’ll face…

I wonder how many people have Google accounts. Note: For the record, I understand that nobody’s saying Google itself isn’t succesful. Is Google really not good at social media? I’ll ask again, what is social media really? We tend to put these labels on things, but I don’t think it’s so black and white. Many different affiliate marketing tools, techniques and methods have made their way across my desktop in just the past few years alone. But I truly believe that this one, will be more effective than just about all of them.
…and after you’ve seen what I’m about to show you, you will too.
Now don’t get me wrong, article marketing is cool, except for the fact that the article directory gets to keep all the ad revenue and they are getting more particular about what articles they accept.
Review sites are OK, but does anyone really trust the reviews they read on those sites anymore? Most people know by now that review sites are just disguised sales pitches and aren’t honest reviews.
Social media is fun, but it has its limits.
It’s more about socializing and less about doing business.
Sure, you can make connections there, but at the end of the day the lion’s share of your profits are more than likely not coming from social media. That tells me that social media sites are not the most important places on the web.
So what is?
Your own blog.
In my opinion, there’s nothing like having your own blog, especially if you use WordPress. WordPress makes blogging much easier and a lot more effective.
Your blog is your castle.
YOU get to decide which content to put on it and don’t have to wait a week for someone else to approve it.
YOU get to keep all of your ad revenue. If you use Google Adsense, however, chances are it’s more like Google Adcents. And please don’t get me started on the Google slaps.
This is why it’s more effective to promote affiliate products on your own blog rather than having to rely on Adsense. Affiliate commissions have much higher payouts than ad clicks.
One thing you can do to promote affiliate products on your blog, is to have a "blog sponsor" section in your sidebar. You can place ads here (preferably with eye-catching graphics rather than just text) that link to select affiliate products and your own products if you have any.
Another option is to occasionally write a blog post or two that promote affiliate products. The posts will contain solid content in addition to your sales pitch. You should write the post as if you were talking to a friend so that it doesn’t come across as too sales-y. And you should never forget to have an opt-in form on your blog so that the email addresses of your blog readers can be collected for future correspondence.
Only on occasion should you promote affiliate products through email to your list.
I say on occasion because best marketing practices dictate that most of the emails you send to your list, should contain helpful, informative and engaging content. You can use your blog posts as content but you should also use original content in your emails too.
In other words, mix it up.
There’s one text ad tool that’s new, comes highly recommended, and shows much promise. It’s called The WordPress Affiliate Clickbank Plugin and it automatically inserts professional looking text link ads for Clickbank products on your blog.
* This is the Ultimate Adsense alternative for bloggers who use the WordPress platform.
* You get 50-70% commissions for any sales you get from the Clickbank ads on your blog (this means you will earn dollars and not cents!)
* It’s Very Easy to install and use (literally takes a few minutes to setup)
* You can use this on Unlimited Websites
…and to top it off, the product creator, Nikola Jankovic of Peomedia, is throwing in Free Lifetime Updates!
The WordPress Clickbank Affiliate Plugin is one of those ideas that is so simple yet Innovative and highly Effective and can make you more money from your blogs if you implement it.
Business expert Thomas Power, entrepreneur, founder of Ecademy, professional speaker and social media expert, explains why he expects Twitter to become the dominant online business development tool in the near future.
“What is Twitter, what’s it going to be, where’s it going?
I think the thing about Twitter is I see Twitter like a coffee shop. And I see Google like a library. And you need both.
You go to the library to get books and get information and look stuff up. And you go to the coffee shop to talk, to chat, to kick things around, to gossip, to hear what’s going on. And I think when you define the news, news is what people are talking about right now.
What people are talking about right now is on Twitter, and arguably Is Twitter. So Twitter is the new news, as well as being the news inside the news. So it’s like the the new coffee shop and the talk that’s going on inside the coffee shop."

It’s been a long time in the making, but the recent announcement by Microsoft that it has signed a cooperative agreement with Yahoo enabling Yahoo to use the former’s search engine platform is quite a watershed in the online information world.
There was a time when Yahoo was seen as a leader in the Internet search arena and when Google may have been seen as another upstart with one of those silly dot com era names.
A protracted period of latency coupled with some questionable business decisions led to virtual stagnation for Yahoo, at a time when Google really seized the initiative and started its growth towards total dominance in the arena.
Today, a clear majority of online information seekers choose to use the successful Google platform to search for solutions. Microsoft and Yahoo have languished in second and third places for some time. So far, they’ve been in negotiations for years, and just over a year ago, an attempt by Microsoft to buy out the other company fell through.
Under the new deal, Microsoft gets an exclusive 10 year license to access Yahoo’s search technologies and may integrate these into its existing platforms if needed. Yahoo may now utilize Microsoft’s new Bing search platform. Indeed, Bing has recently been rolled out in an aggressive marketing campaign and it is thought that this fresh face in the marketplace may have given Yahoo additional incentive to actually ink the deal.
Many analysts, including leading blogger Vincent Fernando, question the viability of the deal from Yahoo’s point of view. He estimates that Yahoo is moving down the value chain and if the company decides to completely adopt Bing as their own search, will be left with little of any tangibility to mark them as a viable ongoing concern.
The deal must pass regulatory approval before it can go forward. Microsoft appears particularly buoyant about the idea, with CEO Steve Ballmer stating that “it will enable us to innovate in search and provide consumers and advertisers with better transparency and choice.” As the deal will take up to two years to fully roll out, Google will have plenty of time to call on its own mighty resources to answer back any perceived challenge.
It is difficult to imagine even the combined “might” of Microsoft and Yahoo bringing a real fight to Google, given not only the latter’s dominance in the search world, but also increasingly stiff competition from the Mountain View-based company in the software and operating system environments, an area previously dominated by Microsoft.
As the deal is rolled out, expect to see innovations within Internet search technology and also see more competition in the world of search engine advertising and pay per click.
