Internet Marketing News, Tips and Tricks Around the Web Vol. 5

I apologize for the long delay between posts but I’ve been kind of busy building a new website.

It’s coming soon.

In the meantime, there’s a couple of things I’ve found that may be of interest to you.

Lynn TerryI found Lynn Terry’s latest ClickNewz! post to be very helpful, informative and well written.

Here, Lynn takes an inside look at the difference between Keyword Research and Market Research. There is a definite difference between the two that many people are not even aware of.

Lynn explains this and more in her latest post.

“I could start out by giving you specific internet marketing strategies, and I’ll share a few of those with you too.

But the key is actually in how you approach the market. It’s not complicated, but it is unique to each market and to each type of niche affiliate site. I’ll share some methods that I use to create a winning marketing plan for any site…”

Lynn’s teachings are highly recommended reading. Continue reading Affiliate Marketing Tips: Traffic & Sales

Mary Kay Miller is an Internet marketing coach specializing in SEO and Web 2.0 Internet marketing solutions. She has created and managed her own Internet business since 2006.

Mary K Miller, Orthopreneur.comI was impressed with many of the SEO tips, and practices Mary presents on her blog and in her most recent entry: “SEO Blog Posts – Seven Tips to Engage Readers and Search Engines”.

In this post, you can actually see that she is using some of the practices she explains in her extensive SEO teachings.

Notice for example that all the clickable links (I would assume these are also keywords) in this particular blog post, all point to actual informative information from paces like Wikipedia.

This is an excellent optimization strategy that works well for both the search engine spiders and the person reading the post.

Mary expands on this even more in her first SEO tip.

To start, the first thing to consider when you are writing a blog post is how you are going to please both the search engine spiders as well as your human visitors. It isn’t all about SEO and keywords no matter what you may have heard or read.  Google for example is much more interested in you making your articles readable and interesting.

Your click through rate (CTR) is one of the criteria it looks at.

If readers are immediately clicking out of your blog or don’t return because the content is considered boring or unreadable, it will hurt your ranking.  Your goal is to create fun and interesting blog posts to please both the search engines and readers.”  - Continue reading SEO Blog Posts – Seven Tips to Engage Readers and Search Engines

A Quick and Easy Formula for Successful Affiliate Marketing

There are many reasons why some affiliate marketers will outperform others. Some may be earning thousands of dollars while others may be getting only one sale for a whole month. I had been trying for a good while to understand why this occurs in the Internet marketing arena.

Then one day, after seeing the signs for some time, I finally figured out that there’s more to affiliate marketing than just promoting a product out of the blue.

Successful marketers do not wake up one day and say that today I will be promoting product X. If you really want to be successful online, you will have to do your homework.

In this article I will provide you with three tips that should help you during your research phase.

All companies in the world have a marketing research department that is responsible to analyze the market and forecast the demand. This process helps companies to develop a product that will appeal to the target group.

People will only buy a product if it is beneficial for them. Many affiliate marketers simply forget this basic rule of business and jump head first in the promotion of products.

For example you can have a product paying a big commission with relatively few competitors in the niche. You decide to invest your money in creating an attractive website, get involved in some advertising and article marketing. But there seems to be no money coming.

What happened?

There simply is no demand for the product.

Do you think people will actually buy a guide on how to switch off a computer?

No matter how hard you try nothing will happen.

So how do you conduct yor market research?

The first thing that you will need to find out is whether people are searching for the products online. You can easily do this by using a keyword research tool such as Google’s Keyword Research Tool which will help you find out the approximate amount of search made for a given keyword.

There are some websites that provide analytical data for a given affiliate program. For instance CB analytics provide some interesting statistics on Clickbank products that will help you to determine the hottest product and also determine the amount of competition in a particular niche.

Finally I would advise you to use your own common sense.

Visit the sales page, visit the affiliate page if it has one and read feedbacks on the product. Does it seem like a scam? If you are in doubt after visiting, expect other people to also have some doubts. Your common sense can prevent you from getting into trouble.

If there is one thing that you need to learn from this article it is to sell only products that consumers are looking for. Only a good preliminary research will help you achieve this and put you on track for a really interesting income.

Next time you choose a product to promote, do not forget to conduct your marketing research.

This is only one of the ways to conduct online market research. There are many tools-both paid and free that will help you during this critical phase of affiliate marketing. To learn more on this and on other affiliate marketing tools visit http://www.blogmarketingtools.com

As stated above, it’s a known fact that you must sell information and products which people really want. But what you might not know is that this desire can be manufactured in just about any niche market and for any product, regardless of how small or big the market is.

Find out right now how to get ahead of other internet marketers using a truth which no one talks about openly…

Twitter is a Hundred Times Better Than Google for Market Research

One of Twitter’s greatest benefits as a business development and social marketing tool is its incredibly powerful search functionality.

Twitter is an absolute goldmine of information and data for your business. In fact, according to social marketing and Twitter for business expert Mark Shaw, Twitter is far better that Google for collecting market intelligence.

In this new business television show Shaw shares social marketing tips and business advice on using Twitter to find out what your customers want and what they are saying about your brand.

Shaw begins by describing the limitations of Google for market research.

When you are trying to collect information on your customers and you use Google, you tend to just get a whole lot of company websites. Run the same search on Twitter, however, and you get to see a whole lot of actual conversations that people out there are having about your industry or brand. This makes it an amazingly powerful business development tool.

You can see in real time the kind of products and features that your customers want, and what they really think about the products you have to offer. Not only that, but you can then go out and communicate directly with those people on Twitter.

In his social marketing tips, Shaw uses a practical example.

Imagine if you were Strepsils. You could search Twitter for ‘sore throat’, then immediately see what people were saying about sore throats. Imagine the valuable, highly targeted information you could glean. Then you could go offer all those people a free sample of your product, or you could ask them what flavours they’d like to see.

Watch the show for free right here to see the rest of Shaw’s expert advice on using Twitter for effective market research.
